Adobe PREMIERE: THE BASICS. How to cut short films using Adobe Premiere software with JACOB ROSENBERG.
This excellent software is an excellent solution for editing your motion work. You will learn the basics. Take your footage from your Canon 5-D Mark II or 7-D or any of the new hybrid cameras, import the material into Premiere and edit, with sound and music if desired, a motion production that you can sell to clients or add to your website content.
We will provide an introductory overview of the editing process specifically geared to photographers, discussing the tools and techniques that you need to be aware of as you begin editing your videos. BIOGRAPHY:
Jacob Rosenberg is a California based independent filmmaker, author and digital video expert. For the last 10 years Jacob has worked extensively with Adobe Systems on their editing program Adobe Premiere Pro. The Adobe Press published Jacob’s book on Premiere Pro 1.5, while Total Training has released 4 volumes of Premiere training DVDs written and hosted by him.
Recently, Jacob wrote and directed the short film “December Story” which he is currently pushing through a powerful digital intermediate process, utilizing HDCAM SR as his digital negative for Telecine’d Super16 film. Jacob has worked on a myriad of technical High-Definition productions ranging from a direct-to-disk HD music video to the independent feature film, “Dust to Glory” which combined nine different formats, into one HD master. Jacob’s independent sensibility and vast knowledge of the digital landscape allows him to help filmmakers and production house find post friendly low cost, high quality workflow solutions for finishing feature films on affordable desktop computers.
A film graduate from Emerson College, Jacob’s college thesis film Silent Rain in the Ninth can be found on the DVD: Short Cinema Journal 5: Diversity. Jacob has directed and edited a handful of short films as well as a number of music videos (Baha Men, Hieroglyphics, Del the Funky Homosapien). Jacob got his start editing, directing and filming skateboard videos in the early 90s for Dogtown Skates and Plan B Skateboards.
Jacob recently served as the Online Editor and Digital Intermediate (DI) Supervisor for the IFC release, Dust to Glory, Directed by Dana Brown (Step into Liquid). Dust to Glory utilized an all digital workflow that used 1080p HD as its Digital Intermediate format mixing nine different video formats seamlessly and printing the HD edit directly to film. Jacob has been the DI Supervisor and Online Editor for the upcoming independent film, LBS.. LBS. was shot on Super16 and was scanned at 2K resolution for finishing within a compressed 2K environment using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. Currently, Jacob is assembling the film, “December Story” which he wrote and directed. The Post-Production on December Story reflects a culmination of Jacob’s knowledge on efficient independent workflows utilizing the highest quality formats possible.
